Privacy Policy

The short version: MixPill doesn't collect anything. No account, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting unless you turn it on yourself. Everything below is the long version, so you don't have to take the short one on faith.

What MixPill asks permission for

MixPill asks macOS for two permissions, and only one of them always. Here's each one, why it exists, and when you're asked:

• System Audio Recording. MixPill is built on Apple's Core Audio process tap API, and macOS requires this permission before an app can start an aggregate device containing a tap. You're asked once, the first time MixPill captures an app. The audio MixPill taps is processed on your Mac, in real time, to change its volume, EQ or destination — it is never written to disk, never leaves your Mac, and MixPill has no server to send it to even if it wanted to.
• Accessibility. Requested only if you turn on global hotkeys in Settings. If you never enable that feature, MixPill never asks for this permission, and everything else works normally without it.

That's the complete list. MixPill does not request screen recording, full disk access, contacts, calendars, or location — and it does not request the microphone. Auto-Ducking (Pro) knows a call has started by asking Core Audio which applications currently hold an audio input, a property any app can read without permission. MixPill never opens an input of its own, so there is no microphone audio for it to record, store, analyze or transmit.

What MixPill collects

Nothing, by default. Specifically:

• No account. MixPill doesn't ask you to sign up or sign in.
• No analytics. There is no usage tracking, no event logging, no third-party analytics SDK.
• No crash reporting unless you explicitly opt in to sending a report after a crash — and if you do, that report goes to us, not a third party, and contains only what's needed to diagnose the crash.
• Your mixer settings, EQ curves and routing choices stay on your Mac. They are not synced to a server MixPill controls.

The one outbound request

The only network request MixPill makes on its own is a periodic check for a newer version. That request includes the app version, your macOS version, and your Mac's processor architecture (Apple silicon or Intel) — enough to tell you whether an update applies to you, and nothing about you personally. You can turn this check off entirely in MixPill → Settings → Updates.

Purchases

When you buy a MixPill Pro licence, the purchase is handled by Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company), who act as merchant of record for the transaction. Lemon Squeezy processes your payment details and calculates any tax owed for your location — MixPill never sees or stores your card details. Lemon Squeezy is a data processor for that transaction; their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policy. Your licence key and receipt are delivered to the email address you provide at checkout.

Third-party services

Downloads are served from GitHub Releases. GitHub may log standard web server access data (such as IP address) as part of serving that file, under GitHub's own privacy statement — MixPill does not control or receive that data.

Children's privacy

MixPill is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes will be noted in the changelog.
